Gurgia Charities has dedicated itself to achieve the following objectives:

(a)    To empower the impoverished artisans of Tilhar and areas around it.
(b)    To upgrade the traditional skills of the artisans by appropriate design and technology intervention.
(c)    To improve quality of products by making state of the art equipment available to the artisans.
(d)    To establish design and quality control centers to make local products acceptable and competitive in export as well as domestic market.
(e)    To achieve effective collective participation of all members involved in production and marketing process for optimal growth in human resource development, effective marketing and income generation.
(f)    Creation of centers of excellence with well integrated forward and backward linkages.
(g)    To organize artisans in ‘Self Help Groups’ to promote self-reliance and financial independence among people living below poverty line particularly women.
